The North East is made up of many different towns and cities
but can be split into 4 main regions:
Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham,
and the Tees Valley.
  
The main cities with gay and gay and gay
friendly venues are Newcastle, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough.
Newcastle boasts the regions biggest gay scene and the
'Gay Capital' of the North East, with 12 100% gay venues and 3
gay friendly pubs, fantastic local gay events, wide selection of
accommodation, shops, cafes & restaurants.
The other cities in the region have a selection of gay and
gay friendly venues, but nothing on the same scale as Newcastle
upon Tyne, however there is plenty of places to eat, drink, and
sleep when visiting the North!
